Seattle

A random parishioner in a church meeting that I unexpectedly sat in on.

Centennial Mills

Found a place to sit in the Fields where I could watch the demolition of Centennial Mills.  The long armed claw was back in operation, with a couple of spotters high up in a bucket.  But I couldn't match up the workings of the claw with the crashes and bangs that I was hearing.  Until I noticed a second claw, working on the back side of the building.

Worked until a southbound Amtrak went by.  Followed almost immediately by a northbound one.  Startled, I checked the time and found that it was nearly 3pm.  I hurried back to the streetcar stop, but missed the streetcar.  Walked home instead.

Industrial Refuge

An unexpectedly warm and sunny day in February.

An abandoned gas station next to (but cut off from) Hwy 30
While I was sketching a man drove up and asked if I knew who owned it.  He must have seen it (and me) from the highway and then worked his way to us from the next exit.  I wonder what he saw in the place.
