Artist's Rep
This is the last play of their season, and will be the last one in this theater, for another two years. They're going 'on the road' while the building is remodeled, which will make it harder for me to get to their performances. (Will they still host readings during Fertile Ground?)
Portland Art Museum
Today's challenge was to browse the new exhibit of b&w prints in the basement, then do a sketch elsewhere in the museum in the style of one of those prints.
I picked out this one:
And then did this:

Hawthorne Bridge from the Esplanade
Actually, four bridges: the Hawthorne, the Marquam, the Tilikum and the Ross Island, all in a row. Done from the dock below the fire station.
Then I walked back up to the bank and found a good view of Big Pink, framed between two trees.
Kay had given me a brush/stylus. That worked pretty well for doing the tree bark.

Pub Trivia
This guy often shows up, but never plays trivia. He gets a drink and sits alone, watching the TV, smiling.
Scott thinks that he must be 'somebody'. When he was in Boise to cover the women's games, this guy showed up to watch the men's. And the men all made sure to shake his hand.

Three Groins in the Fountain
This week's urban sketchers' theme is iconic monuments, and I thought that Portlandia should fit the bill. But I'd forgotten that the Portland Building was being redone, and the statue was under wraps to protect it.
Grump! What else would be an iconic monument for Portland? Big Pink? Orange bikes? I stopped to buy a burrito for lunch, and the vendor suggested doing the statue across the street from her. (The one she has to look at everyday.) So, after I'd finished my lunch I walked across the street to do Three Groins in a Fountain.
It's really called Quest. And, as I found out when I walked around it, it's actually composed of five figures. There's another woman and a boy hiding at the back.

Pub Trivia
More people, on paper so I wouldn't be suspected of cheating and looking up answers on my tablet. (Not that I could have, seeing how their wifi was on the fritz.)

People
There's a challenge out there in the world, to draw 100 people this week. I don't have a prayer of doing that many. But I can get a few in.
Some at a lecture at PSU.....
And then at a concert at the hostel cafe...
